Visualize Your Career Goals

“Self-investment is the best investment.” ~Rynette Upson-Bush

Many professionals look at the new year as a fresh start, an opportunity to re-boot a personal best practice or develop an action plan to advance in their career. 2016 is days away. Exciting, prosperous things and opportunities await us all in the new year. It is important for you to have a business savvy approach about your career plan. The time is now to know what your career goals are for next year. Know and be able to share what your personal metrics of accomplishments and the advanced knowledge levels that you plan to complete in 2016 instantly in detail. Be accountable and progressive about your career aspirations. Make your efforts of planning ahead fun and be creative. Invest in a planner, journal your career aspirations with projected timelines, schedule a meet-up with a purpose/accountability partner or create a vision board that reflects your career goals in motivating words and inspiring pictures for the year.

Utilizing the power of visualization to assist in planning your professional and personal successes have been a beneficial success trigger and professional best practice for many professionals. According to Frank Niles, Ph.D., a social scientist, via the Huffington Post, “Before we can believe in a goal, we first must have an idea of what it looks like.” I recently attended a vision board party hosted by the career confident creators of a personal empowerment organization, Emerge To Destiny. Emerge To Destiny Creators, Rynette Upson-Bush and Carole Davis created an energetic atmosphere that prompted the attendees to eliminate self-doubt from their lives and make plans to accomplish the goals for themselves personally and professionally. It was great to connect with other awesome goal getters that were designing their vision board for 2016 at the event. I encourage you to take time and create amazing synergy for yourself like the vision board party attendees and start planning your big moves for the new year, if you haven’t already. 🙂 Check out the video below of TV Host, Game Show Host, Radio Show Personality, and Author Steve Harvey share why he believes that having a vision board is essential to the success and the positive impact that he makes in society through his career.
